FAQ’s

What’s required to join the PVFD?

A desire to serve the community and the work ethic to actually do it. With these two things, you can become a member of our support team, a firefighter, or a board member. Complete an application if you’re interested in getting started today!

Do Powdersville Firefighters get paid?

We do not. As a 100% volunteer fire department, no one at the Powdersville Fire Department is currently paid; that includes the chief, our officers, firefighters, and support team. That means when you make a donation, 100% of that money goes to serving the community.

Do I need any experience to volunteer?

No immediate experience is necessary to volunteer. We provide the training required for each specific volunteer opportunity, and continued education will be provided year-round. If you’re ready to get started, all you have to do is complete an application.

Are donations to PVFD Tax Deductible?

They are! The Powdersville Fire Department is a registered 501(c)3, as a Public Charity. Our EIN number for charitable purposes is 57-0912968 and our charitable status can be validated on the IRS website: Click here to view it.
